Tehachapi Community Theatre Spotlight
Have you ever wanted to act, but put it off as an impossible dream? Well, it's your time to shine.
The Tehachapi Community Theatre Association is scheduling open auditions for the classic murder mystery play, "Deathtrap," written by Ira Levin. Director Kenny Chugg is reaching out to TCTA members and the community to encourage local actors to audition for one of the five sinister and multifaceted roles.
In this comedic thriller, a washed-up playwright finds a script he'd be willing to kill for. Sidney Bruhl hasn't written a hit play for 18 years when he receives a promising manuscript from Clifford Anderson, a former student. His wife, Myra, suggests the two collaborate. Sidney jokes that it'd be just as easy to murder the young man and steal the script for his own. When Clifford arrives later that evening, not even the psychic neighbor could predict where the dark events of the night will turn. "Deathtrap" is a sharply funny play full of twists and turns that keep an audience on the edge of their seats. Director Chugg is looking for fresh talent to ignite the BeeKay Theatre's stage. Come on down and join in the fun, gain experience and discover that you, too, can dazzle an audience.
