Cheers to Charity – Celebrating a decade of doing good

Cheers to Charity (C2C) is proud to announce that plans for the party of the year are in the works. The team is excited to be celebrating a decade of doing good and have a few surprises for everyone attending.

The evening's ambiance is amazing, the food and beverages are tasty, and the dancing and games are a delightful experience. But the whole reason for the event is to support local nonprofits in an uplifting way. To date, the Cheers team has donated $377,458 to 34 local charities.

"We are committed to making Cheers 2024 an evening to remember," said Cheers Vice President Marcia Thompson. "This year marks a Decade of Doing Good for the place we all call home – Tehachapi."

Cheers to Charity, slated for Aug. 10, takes months of planning and preparation. It is an outdoor food, wine and beer event that raises thousands for local nonprofits.

"We work hard to bring great food, amazing wines, expertly crafted beer and more to Tehachapi. The best thing is that, while raising money for charity, we are enjoying a night of festivity and joy," continued Thompson.

Planned for Aviator Park, the committee is already working on partners for food, desserts, wine, beer and home brew.

"As the only Kern County event with a Home Brew Competition, Cheers is delighted to feature this unique offering," said Michael Dillenbeck, the Home Brew Organizer for the event.

During the first quarter of the year, the Cheers team reviews applications for consideration as an event recipient nonprofit organization – to receive event proceeds. The team changes it up every year to spread the joy around. This year, nine organizations applied and four were selected.

The 2024 Cheers to Charity recipient organizations are Tehachapi CANCER FOUNDATION, Tehachapi Community Theatre, Tehachapi Friends of the Depot and Tehachapi Salvation Army. Cheers to Charity is proud of the impact made in Tehachapi. "The team works tirelessly to create a magical evening in the park. It takes time and energy," said Cheers Board Member Becca Dillenbeck. She further recognizes the vital support of business sponsors and partner organizations to make Cheers to Charity the best night on the town.

This year's event has some surprises to keep things fresh. However, more than a great time, Cheers to Charity is a Party with a Purpose – supporting nonprofits that serve our town and our residents.
