Linda Louise Wells, 80, passed away peacefully at home on May 23. She will be laid to rest at the Bakersfield National Cemetery with her husband. Services will be scheduled at a later date.
Born on June 2, 1943 in Los Angeles, Linda was the daughter of Wanell and Lucille Birch. She loved all things western and was a lifelong horseback rider. In fact, she purchased her first horse at the age of 16 with money saved from collecting aluminum cans! She became a deputy sheriff for Los Angeles County in her mid 30s and retired from the department after a 20-year career.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Douglass and her wonderful husband Joseph. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen (August) and Jennifer (Michael); granddaughters Temple (William); Miranda, Annika and Hailey; and great-grandsons Owyn and River.
