Donald Trumble of California City, California passed away peacefully in the presence of his wife of 20 years, Mary Trumble, on June 1.
Don was the chief of police in Tehachapi from about 1980 to around 1987 when the department went to the Kern County Sheriff's.
He is survived by his daughter Renee Colonna and family of Rosamond, California; his daughter Angelique Trumble and family of Idaho; his son Don and his wife Frannie Trumble and family of Boulder City, Nevada and daughter Janelle Wakefield and family of Peoria, Arizona. Donald had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepchildren.
He had been in law enforcement most of his life, originally coming to Tehachapi from Alhambra and Azuza, California.
He worked for 1.5 years in the California City Police Department, then got another Chief job in Humboldt in the 1990s. He also worked for Homeland Security and then head of security at the Mendocino County Court House from 2003-2005.
After 2005, he moved back home to California City. He loved to play golf, travel and loved his church, New Life Assembly. He loved his Doberman, Angus, too and he enjoyed being the main greeter at New Life Assembly Group as well as being part of the senior men's group. They'd meet Monday through Friday at McDonalds for coffee then on Fridays go to the Coyote Cafe for biscuits and gravy.
Most of them have passed away, so we know they are meeting in Heaven for coffee and conversation.
There will be a short Military Service on June 28 at the National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
