Tehachapi Arts Center
The Tehachapi Arts Center is a staple in the community that gives local artists a space to sell handmade gifts, supplies and teach classes to the community. Runamuk Ceramics is joining the Tehachapi Arts Center Co-op and has taken the town by storm.
Runamuk Ceramics is run by Sandi and Heather Popejoy, a grandmother-granddaughter duet.
This year, Runamuk Ceramics is hosting its first "Kids Craft Camp" at the Arts Center. Runamuk aims to provide a safe, fun and creative environment for children aged 8 to 17. This will be a day camp where parents can drop their children off for a few hours each day, or can stay and create new memories with their children/grandchildren. The camp will be daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from July 15-19.
Each day, kids will take part in two classes taught by Runamuk Ceramics and other local artists. These classes include making ceramic mugs, ceramic coin banks, painting, tie-dying towels, polymer clay bugs, alcohol ink dragonflies and creating their own derby cars. On Friday there will be an "End of Camp Party" for the campers and their families with food, drinks and derby car races.
Anyone interested in signing up their child may do so by coming into the Tehachapi Arts Center located at 116 E. Tehachapi Blvd. to fill out a registration packet. Camp Tuition is $160 per child and is due at the time of registration. Sign up now, as spots are limited.
Any additional Craft Camp questions can be answered by Heather or Sandi via call or text at (661) 699-5982.
