On July 17, the Tehachapi City Council proclaimed the month of July as Parks and Recreation Month. Mayor Michael Davies presented the proclamation to Corey Torres, General Manager of Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District. On the following evening, the board of TVRPD also proclaimed the month of July as Parks and Recreation Month as did the Golden Hills Community Service District at their June 20 meeting.

Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District (TVRPD) is excited to declare July as Parks & Recreation Month. This year's theme, "Where You Belong," captures what we aim to provide – a welcoming space where everyone in Tehachapi can find their place.

Parks & Recreation month is a time to celebrate our parks, appreciate the outdoors and encourage everyone to get outside, be active, and connect with nature together.
