Donna Patricia Richie was born in Brighton, Massachusetts on Aug. 27, 1946 to Donald and Catherine Murley. Donna passed away at home on June 22 in Tehachapi at the age of 77.

Donna grew up in New England, the eldest of four children. She took the role as the eldest very seriously, setting a moral standard for her younger siblings. Hard work and honesty were principles that guided her throughout her entire life.

Donna earned her Associate of Science degree as a registered nurse in 1968. The Murley family moved to California in 1969, and Donna settled in Torrance. In 1971, Donna joined her parents in Lancaster, where she met her husband, David Lee Richie. They married June 17, 1972. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage, residing in Lancaster from 1972-1981, California City from 1981-2005, and Stallion Springs from 2005-2024. Donna was a caregiver to numerous family members over the years. She maintained her R.N. certification until she was 75 years old, in the hopes of one day returning to nursing in some capacity.

Donna is survived by her husband David and their three children, Kevin Richie (sons Will and Wyatt), Sandra Richie (children Olivia and Noah), Deborah Oakley and her husband Kevin (son Matthew), all residents of Tehachapi. She is also survived by her brother, David Murley and his wife Lynne of Hayden, Idaho. Donna is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Catherine, her brother James Murley and sister Elizabeth Males.

Rosary service will be held at Wood Family Funeral Home in Tehachapi on July 11 at 6 p.m. Mass and funeral service will be held at St. Malachy Church in Tehachapi on July 12 at 11 a.m., to be followed by graveside service at Tehachapi Cemetery, West at 1 p.m.
