Mary Alice Montoya, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on June 3.

She was born Nov. 14, 1946 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Arthur and Rosemary Armijo. She was one of 12 children. She met and married the late Salomon Montoya Jr. Mary moved to Los Angeles, California in 1965. She was a long time resident of Simi Valley, California then moved to Tehachapi in 2004.

Mary had three children: Dianne Montoya-Mayers, late Daniel Montoya and Valerie Smith.

Seven grandchildren: Brittany, late Brandon, Garrett, Cheyenne, Ashley, Daniella and Morgan.

Eight great- grandchildren: Jasmine, Isaiah, Ryker, Zephyr, Aiden, Levi, Vincent, and Nikko. Two living sisters; Lorraine Luna and Mary Louise Lester, as well as many nieces and nephews.
