Kids Day at the Museum will be held Sunday, Sept. 15, from noon to 4 p.m. on the 300 block of South Green St.

Plans are being made for the best Kids Day ever! We are looking for additional activities and displays that will interest kids of all ages. Any organization or individual interested in presenting an activity or volunteering to assist should contact Kids Day Coordinator Dixie Coutant at (661) 599-1889 for further information.

Past activities have included making bracelets, bird feeders, baskets, musical shakers, paintings and soap carvings. There has also been a scavenger hunt and the chance to play a song on the Errea House player piano. Local nonprofits have presented educational displays about their work including animal rescue, therapy dogs/horses, railroad safety, amateur radio, beekeeping and reptile identification.

Admission to the event and all Kids Day activities are free. Presented by the Tehachapi Heritage League, the purpose of Kids Day at the Museum is to kindle an interest in local history, encourage kids to try new activities and promote opportunities available in our community.

The Tehachapi Heritage Museum is located at 310 S. Green St. The Errea House and garden is directly across the street at 311 S. Green St. The Museum and Errea House are open Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. See http://www.tehachapimuseum.org for further information about the Museum and the Errea House.
