Healthcare District passes budget for 2025

At their July 16 meeting, the Board of Directors for the Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District (TVHD) unanimously approved the district’s 2025 Proposed Budget. Director Lydia Chaney made the motion to approve and Director Christine Sherrill seconded the motion. The district’s proposed revenue of $1,225,935 comes primarily from state and local taxes and interest but also includes about $60,000 of income from the district’s rental properties. Proposed expenses for 2025 were $549,700 and showed a 7.08% decrease from the prior year.

New Director BreAnne Patterson announced that beginning August 1, she will be the new Director of Clinical Operations for all Adventist Hospitals in Kern County. Among her responsibilities will be overseeing the Adventist Clinics as well as the dialysis and wound care centers. President Mike Nixon reminded Patterson that the TVHD will still need a monthly update from Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley Hospital.
