Police chief addresses chamber

Tehachapi Police Chief Richard Standridge spoke at the July 16 meeting of the Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce held at the American Legion Hall on F Street. Standridge emphasized to the group, "if you see something, say something." Too often he has heard from citizens after the fact, that they say saw an occurrence and did nothing. Since becoming chief, Standridge has increased the number of TPD officers in the department and in the last few months has promoted several of them.

Standridge announced that the TPD will be holding Tehachapi Nite Out (rather than National Nite Out) on August 8 emphasizing that this event is about our community not just the police department. Also being added again soon will be Police Explorers, another link between the Police Department and the citizens of Tehachapi.
