Celebration of Life: Rual Gusta Vinson, November 6, 1927 – July 11, 2024

Rual Gusta Vinson was the eldest son of Jasper Otis Vinson and Linnie Lee Nickell. He was born on Nov. 6, 1927 in Citra City, Hughes County, Oklahoma.

Rual went to school in Allen and joined the Navy after high school. While in the Navy he served in the Korean War. After the Navy, Rual worked in the oil industry at Sun Oil, which was purchased by Koch Refinery where he worked for 30 years. Rual was also a Mason for many years and received the Harim Award. He resigned from the Masons six years ago. He was a proud member of VFW Tehachapi. He thought himself extremely fortunate to have gone on the Honor Flight, an experience he never forgot.

Rual is survived by his wife Sheila Fowle; daughters Deb Parr, Barbara (Steve) Warwick; grandchildren Sheila (Angus) Cann, Jeremy (Julia) Parr, Sara Trigg and Tara (Gabe) Martinez; great grandchildren, Stella Cann, Violet Cann, Joshua Parr, Evan Parr, Alexander Parr, Malana Par, Hanna Martinez, Mia Martinez; many step children, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

Rual went home to be with our Lord on July 11 at 1:10 am. He is "gone but not forgotten." Rest in peace Babe, rest in peace!

Rosary was held July 25 and Mass was held July 26 at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Tehachapi.
