Bobby grew up in Ridgeville, Ontario, Canada. His home was just up the road from Chuck and Lorna Aylett and Tom and Jan Bishop who produced rodeos and Wild West shows. That's where it all began.

At 8 years old, Bobby started cleaning stalls and following Chuck Aylett around. Chuck was Bobby's Roy Rodgers. He could train anything, he had a gun spinning act, a bull whip act and he was a sign painter. Chuck was the most talented man Bobby ever knew and many of Bobby's talents can be traced back to those early days spent with him. Lorna Aylett was a trick rider, barrel racer and Bobby's school teacher. When Bobby was 14 Chuck told him about a place in Illinois that was like a Walmart for horses with lots of horses and cowboys. That's when Bobby learned of Cletus Hulling in Smithton, Illinois. So, Bobby thought that if he really wanted to be a cowboy he'd better head to Smithton. Bobby and a buddy ran away from their homes to search for this place. He worked there for a year before heading to Texas.

In Texas, Bobby worked for several horse traders and trainers, gaining experience and life lessons, showing horses and riding bulls. Splitting time between Texas and Canada, Bobby showed horses in pleasure, reining, cutting, calf roping and rodeoed. Moving full time to Texas in 1982, he trained cutting horses. He married his wife Susan in 1984 and settled in Hico, Texas, raising two wonderful kids, Cody and Kelsey.

Bobby is also a talented craftsman and artist. He owned and operated Cowboy Art in Hico, Texas creating many custom metal signs and fixtures. These custom pieces have been collected and cherished by people all over the world.

From home décor, he moved on to building custom motorcycles with his son. Cody was the mechanic, they both did the fabrication and Bobby did all the painting. His motorcycles have won numerous awards.

Through contacts he had with many champion cowboys, Bobby founded the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame originally in Hico, Texas, then moved to the Stockyards in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2020, Bobby was inducted into the TCHF for his many contributions to the Western Lifestyle.

Bobby became interested in training mustangs after he watched an Extreme Mustang Makeover in Ft. Worth. He was amazed at the versatility of these horses and the challenge of getting one trained in such a short amount of time – 100 days. Currently Bobby spends several months out of the year performing at rodeos and horse shows, demonstrating the versatility of the American mustang and the amazing bonding that can happen between man and equine.
