The event pays homage to the street dance held in 1915 to commemorate the first electric streetlights installed in Tehachapi.

Mark your calendars for Aug. 17 from 6 to 10 p.m. because a brand-new music festival is going to shake things up!

The Green Street Get Down is a music festival featuring two amazing bands, Joe Peters and Yachty by Nature. A collaboration between Westlane Brewing and the City of Tehachapi, this event will bring craft beer from local breweries, food and merchandise to guests as they enjoy live music.

This fun event commemorates the installment of Tehachapi's electricity on July 31, 1915. The city held a street dance on this monumental evening more than 100 years ago, and residents celebrated by waltzing or doing the "Turkey Trot" on Green Street.

This event is free, so come on over and get down on Green Street.
