Get ready for the Pet Parade, Aug. 10

Tehachapi Mountain Dog Fanciers is a local hobby club supporting the Tehachapi area since 1995 with classes, public education, KCSO K-9 fundraising and legislative advocacy. For two decades, it has sponsored the Tehachapi Mountain Festival® Pet Parade, which takes place the weekend before the big event.

During the Pet Parade at the Tehachapi Rodeo Grounds, we begin with a march around the lot to patriotic music. We have competitions, such as best trick, best tail-wagger, tallest pet and more. Then we raffle off donations from local businesses and organizations. The winners of the categories will be featured in the Mountain Festival Parade on Aug. 17.

Raffle tickets offset our cost for ribbons and other necessary materials. Our volunteers work hard to keep overhead costs low and we thank local businesses and organizations that support this event.

Join us Aug. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Rodeo Grounds with your pet (stuffed toy animals welcome).
