The California Highway Patrol, Mojave Area is looking for senior volunteers. We currently have eight senior volunteers, most of whom have been a CHP volunteer for over 10 years.
We are looking for seniors who would like to give back to Kern County and make a positive impact. This round of applications will be closing on Aug. 23. To obtain an application, visit the CHP Mojave office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Or visit us at Tehachapi Mountain Festival on Aug. 17 and 18. Qualifications:
• Age 55 or older.
• Good physical health.
• Clear background check.
• Valid California driver's license.
• Ability to volunteer a minimum of four hours per week.
Duties:
• Assisting with administrative tasks.
• Providing traffic control at special events.
• Supporting community outreach programs.
• CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive.
• Thanksgiving Food Baskets.
• Helping local shelters.
• Giving back to our communities.
