Arrest made for a string of crimes

Parolee Roberto Betancourt from Bakersfield was arrested on Aug. 2, for committing grand theft of $1,700 in cash from a vendor at the Tehachapi Farmers Market on July 25. The suspect was also arrested for causing $2,000 in damage to a coin machine at the Wash Tub Laundromat in Tehachapi on July 30.

Betancourt was booked into the Kern County Jail, Lerdo Facility on charges of Grand Theft as well as Commercial Burglary, Felony Vandalism and violation of parole.
