City receives Financial Reporting Award

The City of Tehachapi's Finance Department received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. This achievement is for the City's annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2023.

This award represents the COT Finance Department's commitment to the "spirit of full disclosure," to clearly communicate the City's financial story and motivate potential users to read the report.

According to the Government Finance Officers Association, the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

"We are truly honored to receive the GFOA's Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This award marks the 6th year in a row that the City of Tehachapi has been recognized for our Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, which is a testament to our Finance team's ability to maintain superior standards in financial reporting and the City's dedication to fiscal responsibility and transparency," said Finance Director Hamed Jones.
