Jessica DeMumbrum, club treasurer, taught the little ones how to make praying mantis figurines with green colored pipe cleaners and beads.

Due to the heat, the California City Farmers Market has been located inside the gymnasium at Central Park in California City. The Desert Rose Garden Club sold cactuses and house plants at their booth. All monies raised goes to the "Beautify California City Project" fund.

On Oct. 4 and 5, the DRGC will be hosting their semi-annual Plant and Rummage Sale in Central Park, 10350 Heather Ave, California City, next to the handball and tennis courts, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
