Tehachapi's Online Community News & Entertainment Guide
Hippie Talk
Tehachapi is a town known for its deep-rooted values and close-knit community, where traditions run strong. Yet, even here, there are times when new experiences can open doors to unexpected benefits.
This is the case with Usui Reiki, a form of natural healing that is finding its place at the Healthy Hippie Trading Co., located in the heart of Old Town at 20418 Brian Way.
Reiki Master Patti Gould, visiting from Tucson, is bringing her expertise in the Usui System of Natural Healing to our community. With over 17 years of experience, Patti is passionate about sharing the benefits of Reiki, a practice that involves gentle touch to promote relaxation, reduce stress and encourage the body’s natural healing processes.
Last week, Patti led a first-degree Reiki class at the Hippie, introducing participants to the basics of this powerful technique. Store owner Sarah Rose was among those who took the class, and her experience serves as a testament to the effectiveness of Reiki.
“I did not intend to participate in the class as I had no desire or thought to become a Reiki Master,” Sarah shared. “However, after having my own private, one-hour session with Patti prior to the class, I was so impressed by the relaxation and relief from pain that had been plaguing me for over a month, that I knew I had to attend the class. I am now a first-degree Reiki student with the knowledge and ability to give myself, family, friends and my pets Reiki. I will be forever grateful that I took Patti’s class.”
The benefits of taking the class are clear, even for those who do not intend to continue their training to become a Reiki Master. The knowledge gained in just the first degree can be used to promote well-being for oneself and loved ones, making it a valuable skill for anyone.
For those curious to learn more about Reiki, the Hippie will be hosting a “mini” Reiki event on Sunday, Sept. 8, from noon to 3 p.m. This event offers a perfect introduction, with 15-minute mini Reiki sessions available on a donation basis.
“Learn more about Reiki with a mini, hands-on session with Patti and her first-degree Reiki students,” Sarah said.
If you missed last week’s class, there’s still a chance to learn from Patti, as she will be teaching again at the Hippie on Sept. 12 and 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., both days. For more information and to sign up for the classes, visit Patti’s website at http://www.reikinaturalhealingus.com/. Patti will also be available for private sessions until mid-September for those seeking individual treatment.
For our community, this is an opportunity to explore a gentle, non-invasive healing practice that can bring comfort and relaxation to our lives, whether for ourselves or our loved ones. The Healthy Hippie Trading Co. invites everyone to come and experience the potential benefits of Usui Reiki firsthand.
