TPOPs invites musicians to join in annual Halloween Concert

Calling all musical ghosts, ghouls and goblins!

It’s time to start rehearsing for the annual TPOPs (Tehachapi Pops Orchestra) Halloween Spooktacular Concert. This year’s show will again be presented at the Tehachapi Adult Day Healthcare Center, 123 W. F St., on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 4 p.m.

Rehearsals started on Thursday, Aug. 29, 6 to 8 p.m., at Fiddlers Crossing, 206 E. F St., in downtown Tehachapi, and will continue each Thursday until the show. Local musicians are welcome to join in for this monstrously fun music event.

TPOPs is an inclusive community orchestra that welcomes all orchestral instruments and players, at all different levels. It is also a mentoring orchestra, in which students, teachers and professional players of any age can play together. The music is basically a high school level and under. The only requirements are a basic ability to read music, and a willingness to take direction from the conductor.

Also of note, rehearsals for the upcoming Christmas holiday sing will begin right after the Halloween show, and musicians are welcome to join TPOPS for that program, as well.

But, for now, shake off the spiders, dust off the cobwebs, tune up the strings, slather on some cork grease, don your costume and come join TPOPs for a ghoulish good time!
