Fred passed away in Los Angeles, California on Aug. 12, at the age of 84, holding hands with his wife Carol on their 35th wedding anniversary.

Fred was born in Brandon Manitoba, Canada on May 6, 1940, to parents William and Christine Chase. Around the age of 10, the family moved to Southern California. Fred met Margot Spicer and had two children, Raymond and Heather, whom he loved and nurtured.

Fred and Carol were introduced by mutual friends, and they spent 39 wonderful years together. Their blended family made for a wonderful union.

Fred is survived by his wife Carol Petsuch Hodge Chase, daughter Pam Smith, children Brooke and Gabby. Son Jim Hodge, children Lanie and Tanner. Great granddaughter, Delilah. Son Raymond and wife Dawn, children Daniel and Nathan. Daughter Heather and Scott Zachreson, children Kayla Christensen Kelfer and Dylan Kelfer and their children Korra and Rylee; daughter McKenna and husband Britton Hogen with their children Baker, Beau and Brigham; daughter Ginger and husband William Ferreira; daughter Ashlee Zachreson and son Zack Zachreson and wife Hannah Hudson. He is also survived by this brother Robert and Lori Chase, son Matthew Chase, wife Dina Meyer, children Rachel Shelton and Jay Chase. Daughter Tricia Bruzina and husband Thom Bruzina, children Jeffery Sappington and Ashlee Sappington. Also Molly, our beloved, talkative rescue dog. Preceded in death by his parents William and Christine Chase and first wife, Margot Spicer Chase.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Wood Family Funeral Home in Tehachapi. In lieu of flowers you may consider a donation to your favorite charity.
