Southern Sierra Pops Fall Concert, Sept. 28, 7 p.m.

Selections include "Autumn Leaves." TMTA Brew Fondo, Oct. 5, 8 a.m.

19th Annual Oktoberfest, Oct. 5, noon to 6 p.m.

Fun for the whole family! Food, beer, wine, costume contest, live music, bounce houses vendors and kid-friendly activities.

10th Annual German and Bavarian car cruise, Oct. 5, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The show is sponsored by G's Spot VW, RSI Petroleum and Papa's House; we are not affiliated with any other entities. All German vehicles and motorcycles are invited, all years. Car show participants who join the cruise-in get first priority parking. For the cruise-in, meet at the old KMart parking lot, 710 W. Tehachapi Blvd. We're pulling out for the cruise-in at 10-10:15 a.m.

Annual Witch/Warlock Hat and Costume Decorating Contest with Gallery 'N' Gifts through the month of October

In the spirit of a fun and spooky Halloween, Gallery 'N' Gifts is excited to announce the Witch/Warlock Hat Contest. Decorate the best Witch/Warlock hat and win a prize. Entry is free. Blank witch hats can be purchased at the Gallery for $3. Hats must be completed and dropped off to the Gallery by 5 p.m. on Oct. 2. Hats will be on display at Gallery 'N' Gifts for judging from Oct. 4-30. The community will determine the top three winners. You can judge in person, or on our Facebook page until Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. First, second and third place winners will receive a prize.

Tehachapi Fall Carnival, Oct. 11-13, Fri. - 6 to 10 p.m., Sat. - noon to 10 p.m., Sun. - noon to 9 p.m.

The excitement of the Carnival will again be part of this year's Tehachapi Apple Festival. This year the Carnival will again be at the Tehachapi Rodeo Grounds & Event Center. There will be rides and fun for all ages. It will be on Fri., Oct. 11 from 6 to 10 p.m., Sat., Oct. 12 from noon to 10 p.m., and Sun., Oct. 13 from noon to 9 p.m.

The pre-sale price for a wristband, that will enable you to ride as often as you like Saturday and Sunday, will be $35. They are available at the Chamber office, 209 E. Tehachapi Blvd. The cost is $40 at the carnival ticket booth.

Events at the Rodeo Grounds, Oct. 11 & 12

Friday night there will be a family fun concert in the arena at the Rodeo Grounds starting with Soul Line Dancing at 5 p.m., followed by a concert by MetalShop from 6 to 8 p.m. There will also be food trucks and an open bar. Tickets are $20, kids under 10 are free and they are available online and at the Chamber office, 209 E. Tehachapi Blvd.

Saturday the gates open for the 2nd annual Apple Fest Rodeo at 1 p.m. with the rodeo starting at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for rodeo and $45 for an unlimited carnival wrist band and rodeo ticket. Come early for best seats and stay for the Carnival. Tickets are available online and at the Chamber office, 209 E. Tehachapi Blvd.

Tehachapi Mountain Quilters Quilt Show, Oct. 12 -13, Sat. - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m .; Sun. - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Tehachapi Mountain Quilters are excited for this year's Quilt Show. Between COVID and economic reasons it has been seven long years since we have had a show.

Admission is $10 Adults, $5 ages 6-16 and under 6 free (no strollers).

Where: Held at the Aspen Builders Inc. Activity Center at 410 W. D St., Tehachapi.

Tehachapi Friends of the Library 2-in-1 Book Sale, Oct. 12, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Tehachapi Friends of the Library is having another 2-in-1 Book Sale during the Tehachapi Apple Festival, which is taking place on South Green Street in Downtown Tehachapi. Monies from the book sales will be used to provide funding for the Tehachapi Library's wide-variety of public programs. Tehachapi Apple Festival, Oct. 12-13, Sat. - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sun. - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This free festival is fun for everyone in the family and includes a Kids Zone, an apple pie baking contest, pie eating contest, hand-crafted artisan gifts and apple related items for purchase and much more.

Tehachapi Terror Halloween Haunted House, Oct. 12-31, 6 to 9 p.m.

Running Oct. 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 and 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. each night. The line can get lengthy, so early arrival is encouraged.

Tehachapi Symphony Concert, Oct. 20, 4 p.m.

Guest violinist Lorenz Gamma performs Othmar Schoeck's "Violin Concerto in B-Flat Major." The program will also include Jacques Ibert's "Hommage a Mozart" and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Symphony No. 38 in D Major." This is a free concert.

Ghoulden Hills Trick or Treat, Oct. 26, 4 to 7 p.m.

Movie, pumpkin patch, face painting, candy, games and music.

5th annual Downtown Tehachapi Treat Trail, Oct. 31, 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Veterans Day Celebration, Nov. 11, 11 a.m.

Hosted by Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District

This free event features veterans' stories and honors our local heroes. Also available are military related booths and a kid obstacle course. All kids that participate will receive an official dog tag. Hotdogs by California Hot Dog Company available for purchase and free to veterans. Event ends at 2 p.m.

Hot Chocolate Turkey Trot 5K, Nov. 23, 8 a.m. registration

Hosted by Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District

This event will start and finish at Brite Lake. Enjoy this fun run with your family to help get in the spirit for Thanksgiving. The 5K route is stroller-friendly. It goes around Brite Lake on dirt and gravel roads. Register online or at the TVRPD offices Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pre-registration until Nov. 21: $35
