Our featured quilter for the 2024 Tehachapi Mountain Quilters Quilt Show is Frosti Acord. Come see her beautiful quilts, which will be on display at the Quilt Show. The Quilt Show will be held at the Aspen Builder's Inc. Activity Center, on Oct. 12 and 13.

She is a long-time resident of Bear Valley Springs who moved to the area in 1988. Her husband Jerry was transferred from the Northrop in Hawthorne to the Palmdale Northrop to continue working in the aircraft industry. He designed each of their two residences, one of which Frosti still resides. Frosti also has three children, Mark, Roger and Lisa.

Frosti was a teacher at the Sonshine Place Preschool in Tehachapi for 20 years and the Director from 2000-2002. Frosti's interest in quilting began with the birth of her grandchildren. She joined the guild in 2002, when she retired.

She is self-taught, learning her skills from visiting with other quilters and looking at magazines. Her favorite patterns are hand applique. Frosti has no UFOs – which means"unfinished objects," in the quilting world.
