New Homeschool Enrichment Program celebrates its first days

On Tuesday, Sept. 3, a new program celebrated its launch with a special ribbon cutting.

With the added fun of a bounce house, donuts and giveaways, the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District Tots program launched its newest endeavor to provide support and enrichment for Tehachapi's homeschool students. Focusing on students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, the Summit Seekers program, located at 401 S. Mill St., aims to provide supplemental instruction and assistance to complement a family's homeschooling/charter choice. The entire team was present to cut the ribbon and welcome parents and guardians interested in the program. The Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce presented a certificate of recognition for the hundreds of hours of preparation organizer, Kelsey Ketcheside, and her team put into the program.
