Slice of Life Enrichment School to host first Youth Art Contest

Slice of Life Enrichment School is proud to partner with the Bear Valley Springs Cultural Arts Association for their inaugural Youth Art Contest, open to young artists ages 5-18.

Youth from Tehachapi and surrounding Kern County areas are invited to showcase their creativity in any flat media, such as oil, acrylics, watercolor, colored pencil, pen/ink, graphite, charcoal, mixed, etc. Please no photographs or digital art.

Key details:

• Entry deadline: Friday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m.

• Age categories: 5-7, 8-10, 11-13 and 14-18.

• Prizes: $400 in cash prizes will be awarded across age groups.

• Submission limit: Up to three pieces per participant.

The event will conclude in a judging and contestant reception on Friday, Oct. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Slice of Life Enrichment School, 48771 W. Valley Blvd., Tehachapi. All artwork, including the winners, will be on display during an Open House on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. Earlier that day, the school's Annual Fall Recital will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., showcasing the musical talents of students. The public is invited to attend both events.
