Mojave Gold Rush Days, Oct. 4-5

Mojave Gold Rush Days returns after a 5-year hiatus. The event from the Mojave Chamber will take place Oct. 4 and 5. The Mojave Elks Lodge 2059, 16200 K St., will host a horseshoe tournament, a chili cook-off and a dance, featuring live music by Overdrive on Friday, Oct. 4. Ms. Gold Rush, Mr. Whiskerino and the Honorary Mayor will be named during the Friday festivities.

A pre-parade, all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, hosted by the Elks Lodge 2059, 16200 K Street, kicks off the Saturday, Oct. 5 events at 7 a.m. The parade commences at 10 a.m. at K and Nadeau Streets, then continues down K Street, turns at Shasta Street and ends at the Mojave High School parking lot. There will be food trucks, vendors, music by Mill Street Exit and free family activities on the athletic field. The Mojave Seniors will host bingo at the veterans Building, 15580 O Street, at 1 and 3 p.m. They will also host a dance from 6 to 11 p.m. in the veterans Hall, 15580 O Street, with music by Runaway, a bar by the Elks and food by Big T's Barbeque.
