Tehachapi's Online Community News & Entertainment Guide
This year, the Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society is happy to offer an exciting and varied 2024-25 concert season.
The RCMS offerings this year provide an opportunity to enjoy delightful musical evenings in a beautiful accessible environment. As in the past, RCMS is excited to continue to be able to provide a performance opportunity to young, local artists as a prelude to the regular scheduled program. This feature has been enthusiastically received by the community, the young performers as well as the professional artists on the program.
The RCMS is grateful to the Ridgecrest Methodist Church, 639 No. Norma Street, as it has graciously agreed to provide the venue for all performances again this year. This platform continues to provide larger space and excellent acoustics and accessibility. It should be noted that while four of the concerts will be on the traditional day and time of Sundays at 4 p.m., there will be one concert on Saturday at 4 p.m. and one concert on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The RCMS continues to offer the convenience of purchasing a season pass, as well as individual tickets online by using the RCMS website, RCChamberMusic.org, as well as by the conventional means.
The 2024-25 program offerings promise to be varied and satisfying.
On Sunday, Nov. 3 at 4p.m. RCMS will present a group new to the Ridgecrest music community, the Akropolis Reed Quintet.
On Sunday, Dec. 8 at 4 p.m., the Vieness Piano Duo and the Solasta Piano Trio will delight audiences with some lovely holiday classics to celebrate the season.
On Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025 at 4 p.m., the popular and exciting Carbe and Durand will again present an eclectic display of some of their own compositions as well as innovative arrangements of rock, pop and blues.
On Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at 4 p.m. in a departure from strictly instrumental offerings, Dolce Armonia will thrill guests with highlights from opera and oratorio masterpieces by Puccini, Verdi and Mozart.
On Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 4 p.m., Ridgecrest is fortunate to again hear classic works performed by the accomplished and popular Neave Piano Trio.
The last offering will be on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 7 p.m. and features the Felici Piano Trio. As in previous years, Felici will graciously provide adjudication for local music students. What a great way to end the 2024-25 concert year.
The Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society is pleased to be able to continue to bring musicians and programs of this caliber to the Ridgecrest community and is particularly grateful to the artists who, as in years past, will present shortened programs to the local student population at no cost.
Tickets may be purchased through the RCMS website: RCChamber Music.org, via mail at RCMS P.O. Box 264 Ridgecrest, CA, 93556-0264 and at the door of Ridgecrest Methodist Church, 639 N. Norma St., on the evening at the concert.
While the Board of the Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society is pleased to be able to offer all programs in person, it remains mindful of the fact that some concert goers may continue to feel challenged by COVID-19 or other health situations. As before, RCMS continues to maintain rigid adherence to CDC health guidelines.
