Candidate Dr. Jeremy Alan Woods for Mojave Air & Space Port Board of Directors

Provided.

Dr. Jeremy Alan Woods.

Greetings, voters!

My name is Dr. Jeremy Alan Woods, and I have over 25 years of experience as an educator, entrepreneur, executive and consultant.

I'm an Associate Professor at California State University Bakersfield (CSUB) and the Managing Director for the university's Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI). Over the course of my career, I've taught and mentored over 3,000 students, published 20 different thought leadership papers and helped generate $20+ million in revenue for innovation initiatives and startups in North America, South America and Europe.

I have loved planes and rockets since I was a kid, and for the past five years, I've been working to bring leaders from West Kern together with leaders from the East Kern aerospace sector on a variety of innovation initiatives. In just the past two years, these initiatives have generated six different R&D projects, five paid student internship or full-time job placements and interest from over 100 students in future aerospace careers. In that same period of time, the venture accelerator I run has helped nearly 30 startups generate over $1 million in revenue, create 10 new jobs, bring in over $200k in seed funding and win over $6 million in grant funding.

There are seven candidates running for the Mojave Air & Space Port Board of Directors in this election, and you would be well served voting for any of them. I've gotten to know several of them, and they all have expert knowledge of the aerospace sector and deep roots in East Kern. You can vote for three candidates, and if you choose me as one of them, I promise that I will bring my entrepreneurial attitude and broad international contact network to the table to support the great team at the Air & Space Port in solving the challenging problems that hold back Mojave, California City, Rosamond and the rest of East Kern from greater prosperity.

If we all work together to take initiative, think outside the box and solve problems while remaining relentlessly diligent, open-mindedly humble and transparently cooperative, there's no limit to the dreams we can turn into reality for East Kern, California, the United States and the world!
