When it comes to choosing healthcare for you and your family, especially in smaller communities like Tehachapi, you deserve the very best. At Adventist Health, we're proud to offer 5-star primary care, backed by ratings from real patients just like you.

In 2024, Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley earned two 5-star ratings - one for patient recommendations and another for cleanliness. These ratings are based on patient survey data collected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), ensuring you can make informed decisions about your healthcare.

What do these 5-star ratings mean?

Patient recommendations: Patients rated their experience based on how well our doctors communicated, listened and treated them with respect.

Cleanliness: Patients shared their feedback on how clean their rooms and bathrooms were during their stay.

"Meeting and exceeding exceptional standards on how well patients are treated and the cleanliness of their rooms is not optional," said BreAnne Patterson, director of Clinical Nursing Operations at Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley. "Our expectation is that every patient, with every visit, is treated with utmost respect and dignity, not only by our providers, but also by ensuring that their environment is clean, tidy and conducive to healing."

Additionally, Adventist Health's primary care medical offices in the Tehachapi area are earning 5-star CMS scores and are in the top 10% of the country among patients who would recommend the practice to others. This means approximately 97% of patients who responded to a post-visit survey said that the likelihood they would recommend that practice to others is "very good" or "good."

So where does this data come from? We utilize Press Ganey, a trusted leader in patient surveys. Every patient who visits one of our practices is offered the opportunity to respond to a survey about the care they received. The feedback we obtain from these surveys is vital in helping us understand your experience as a patient, as well as identify and address areas where improvement is needed.

"Not only do we want our patients to receive excellent care, but we also want them to know that their voice matters," says Jennifer Duyst, interim ambulatory executive at Adventist Health Central California Network. "We're thrilled to know that our patients recommend our care to others. We also know that we couldn't accomplish this without the honest feedback of those we serve."

In addition to patient satisfaction, our clinics ranked in the 88th percentile for clinical quality, as ranked by CMS. This means we outperform 88% of healthcare organizations in areas like diabetes, high blood pressure and cancer screenings.

These phenomenal ratings and scores are a testament to the hard work and dedication that our providers and healthcare teams put into providing excellent care for everyone we serve. With these exceptional ratings, you can rest easy knowing you don't have to travel far to find top-quality, compassionate care.
