Planning gorgeous Thanksgiving centerpieces

Provided.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we are all busy making plans with family, checking school schedules and looking forward to a bit of time off of work. Here in the Blooms flower studio, we are planning some gorgeous Thanksgiving centerpieces, and it has caused me to stop and wander down memory lane just a bit.

Thanksgiving for me evokes fond memories of family. We would gather at grandpa and grandma's house and by lunchtime, it would be bursting at the seams with uncles, aunts, cousins and lots of laughter. The table would be fully extended, stretching from the kitchen island out into the living room, loaded with enough food to ensure we would still have leftovers.

Sitting here typing this out makes me realize the blessing of my childhood surrounding the Thanksgiving holiday. I feel incredibly lucky to have had that tradition each year, to be continuing it with my own family here in Tehachapi, and to know that if I were to make the trip "back home" that would still be happening this year.

Another feature of our Thanksgiving table from childhood was flowers. With my aunt being a florist, she always arrived carrying a long centerpiece, usually one with taper candles that would be lit by one of my uncles before we all took our seats. When you place flowers on the table at your gathering you elevate an already special occasion by adding a touch of elegance and beauty.

Whether your party includes two people or 20, Blooms offers a centerpiece size to fit your table. We have tiny ceramic pumpkins for a two to four person table; flower rings, which hold a pillar candle inside; pumpkin arrangements with flowers spilling out the tops; or long designs, intended to fit a stretched out table and capable of holding taper candles, if you like. We will be choosing the freshest fall assortment of blooms at the market and bringing those warm tones into your gathering. Call or visit our website to reserve your centerpiece.

No matter how you celebrate, we would like to extend a warm and happy Thanksgiving season to you and yours from Blooms. We are grateful for each one of you who has helped make our small business a reality.
