Leilani was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming to her parents, Clarence Raymond Miller Jr. and Dorothy Darlyne Miller. Her early childhood was spent in Green River, Wyoming, surrounded by a large extended family. Leilani raised her children as a single parent in Lodi, California, and worked for the state of California prison system as a supervising cook until her retirement in 2009. In 2009, Leilani and her widowed mother moved to Tehachapi, California, where she lived the rest of her life. Leilani loved the peace she found in Tehachapi.
