The California Living Museum (CALM) announced today that tickets for the award- winning HolidayLights, now featuring a refreshed logo, are now on sale at http://www.calmholidaylights.org/.
HolidayLights will kick-off on Saturday, Nov. 30 and run nightly through Jan. 4, except on Christmas. Guests can enjoy the lights from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Sundays through Thursdays, and enjoy new extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
This year, timed ticketing during Fridays and Saturdays will offer guests the choice of 5:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. entry slots, helping to minimize wait times and improve the overall guest experience on busy nights. With extended hours and new branding, the 2024 HolidayLights promises to be the best yet.
"Our goal is never to stop growing and expanding for the community," said CALM Director Meg Maitland. "All of the changes we have made this year are a direct reflection of that growth. We are continually adding to this show's beauty and warmth to the community."
HolidayLights is designed and installed by Bakersfield resident Josh Barnett and his company Lightasmic! This season's highlights include updates to the popular tree show, the introduction of new tree varieties at The Pines Tree Farm and Market, expanded food stations in collaboration with Teen Challenge, and the return of beloved displays to the Shorebird area.
"CALM's HolidayLights brings generations together for a beloved Kern County tradition and remains the most affordable event of its kind," said Russell Bigler, CALM Foundation chair. "Every ticket purchased directly supports CALM's future and Kern County Teen Challenge, our partner for 22 years. We're grateful for the community's continued support and have exciting plans ahead."
Tickets are on sale now and should be purchased in advance online at http://www.calmholidaylights.com or at the CALM gift shop. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for children ages 3-11, and 15% off per ticket for CALM members, seniors and military. Children 2 and under are free.
HolidayLights is CALM's largest fundraiser and every dollar raised stays at CALM to help improve the facility and its programs. The event has been voted best annual event by readers of The Bakersfield Californian, including Best Nonprofit Event in 2024, one of the top 10 light shows in the western U.S. by the Los Angeles Times and among the 10 Best Zoo Light Shows in the U.S. by USA TODAY.
