TPD launches Special Needs Emergency Information Form

The Tehachapi Police Department has introduced the Special Needs Emergency Information form to help officers provide the highest level of public safety to our citizens. The purpose of the form is to better serve individuals with special needs by giving TPD officers and dispatch access to crucial medical details when responding to emergencies or other interactions.

The form is available in the lobby of the Tehachapi Police Department located at 220 W. C St.

The form asks for details like medical/mental health conditions, medications, communication methods (verbal or non-verbal), wandering tendencies, triggers and reactions. All information provided will remain confidential in the TPD records system.

The Tehachapi Police Department would also like to remind our community that there are free window decals for residents with special needs and their family members. These decals alert officers to the presence of individuals in the home who may not respond or comply well with law enforcement commands. The decals can also be picked up in the TPD Lobby.
