Friends of the Tehachapi Library
To celebrate the Tehachapi Hometown Christmas, the Tehachapi Friends of the Library will be holding their Christmas Book Market and Craft Event.
Books make great gifts for Christmas (or any other end of year holiday). To help you find these gifts, the Friends of the Library will be having a Christmas Book Market on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Book Market will be inside the library with a selection of holiday, gift and children's books.
In addition there will be some specialty books and a selection of audio books. The Friends of the Library have been saving up special items for the sale from the generous donations we get from our Tehachapi community.
Note that if you have one of our memberships you get early access to the sale. Members can come in from 10 to 10:30 a.m. If you purchased a membership at the Apple Festival that's still good. If you don't have a membership? You can get one at the door. They are only $10 for a whole year and get you in early for all our sales.
Again this year, the Tehachapi Library will be having a free Craft Event. Children will be able to select from an assortment of craft ornaments to put together. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. children are invited to come to the Library and make their own ornament. (Or pick one up to take home and make.)
In addition, the Friends of the Library will have a holiday backdrop set up where you can take a holiday picture of yourself or have a family photo made. The backdrop will be available to everyone visiting the library.
So put on your "Christmas Cheer" on, and visit us before, during or after you visit the other participants in the Tehachapi Hometown Christmas. We're located at 212 S. Green St., near all the action, conveniently located as a place to come in to browse, make an ornament, take a holiday selfie or just warm up!
Plus you're also welcome to shop the regular library book shop. There are great deals available everyday the Tehachapi Library is open (Tuesday-Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 .a.m. to 4 p.m.).
Remember that all the proceeds from all our book sales stay locally at our own Tehachapi branch to support library programs for the Tehachapi community, such as this free Craft Event.
