Errea House welcomes holiday visitors

Provided.

Holiday decorations are beginning to appear in the Errea House. Come see them at Hometown Christmas on Dec. 7.

Hometown Christmas has become an anticipated event in Tehachapi, and the Errea House has become an important part of that holiday celebration.

Tehachapi Heritage League (THL) operates the 125-year-old house at 311 S. Green St. It will be open on Dec. 7 from noon until 5 p.m. to welcome visitors with a warm place to enjoy spiced cider and gingerbread cookies. It will be a time to also gather around the player piano and sing holiday songs.

The Museum, at 310 S. Green St., will be open from noon until 5 p.m. There you can find delightful gifts for sale including local jams, coffee, BBQ sauce and books by local authors. There are also children's crafts and toys, as well as old-fashioned candy.

THL conducts an annual raffle each December, and these items will be on display until the drawing takes place Dec. 22. The museum and the Errea House are open Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. However, Dec. 22 will be the last day they will be open until the regular hours resume in January. Further information about the museum may be found at http://www.tehachapimuseum.org/.
