Friday, Dec. 6

The Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce is excited about their 3rd annual Holiday Window Decorating Contest which is now under way! Businesses across Tehachapi decorate their windows and store fronts to spread holiday cheer and compete to win first place! It is free to enter and decorating will need to be completed by Dec. 6. The contestants will be judged by a panel of judges and a popular vote, and winners will be announced Dec. 9. Awards will be distributed shortly afterward. This year's theme is Joy to the World. Last day to submit entries is Dec. 2 by 5 p.m. For applications email [email protected].

Friday, Dec. 6

Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra Concert: Music Director David Newby presents Tehachapi's Grand Christmas Tradition "The Messiah," George Friedrich Handel and "A festival of Carols," arranged by John Bolin, "Bells of Christmas," arranged by David Wise. Located at Country Oaks Baptist Church 20915 Schout Rd., in Tehachapi at 7 p.m. Free admission, silent auction and reception to follow concert.

Friday, Dec. 6

Just in time for Christmas, Gallery 'N' Gifts First Friday Event. This month we will be celebrating our jewelry, pottery, and glass member artists as they display new work from 4 to 7 p.m. This special show spans a variety of medium and price points that will appeal to all tastes and budgets. Gallery 'N' Gifts is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Located at 100 W. Tehachapi Blvd. Beverages and refreshments will be served.

Saturday, Dec. 7

Breakfast with Santa, hosted by the Tehachapi Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Masons, The Salvation Army and TVRPD.

Bring your little ones dressed their best for a delightful morning filled with joy and wonder and a free photo with Santa. Join us for a free delicious breakfast of pancakes and sausage plus drinks. There will be several games for kids to play. Held at Aspen Builders Inc. Activity Center, 410 W. D St. From 8 to 10 a.m.

Saturday, Dec. 7

The Friends of the Tehachapi Library will be having a traditional Christmas Book Market and Craft Event during Tehachapi's Hometown Christmas. Holiday Craft is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Christmas Book Market is from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It will be in the warm and comfy Tehachapi Library located at 212 S. Green St. There will be free cocoa/coffee and different holiday crafts for the kids and adults, too.

Hometown Christmas, Parade and Tree Lighting

The City of Tehachapi is excited to announce the events and activities planned for the 2024 Tehachapi Hometown Christmas celebration, taking place from 1 to 5 p.m. on Green Street and at Centennial Plaza. Joy to the World is the theme chosen of this years Christmas Parade. Starting at 5:30 p.m. Beginning at Mill St. the parade route is down F St., left at Robinson, left at Tehachapi Blvd. and ending in front of the Tehachapi Depot Railroad Museum for the lighting of the Christmas Tree at 7 p.m. For more information contact the Chamber office at (661) 822-4180. Saturday, Dec. 7 and 14

Photos with Santa at the Depot: Baked goods and hot chocolate will be available while Santa is here Saturdays, Dec. 7 and 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will be open regular hours during December, Thursday – Monday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Tehachapi Depot Reailroad Museum is located at 101 W. Tehachapi Blvd.

Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8

5th annual German Christmas Market from noon to 6 p.m. at Dorner Family Vineyard, 18274 Old Ranch Rd., (661) 823-7814, http://www.dornerfamilyvineyard.com/. 45 artisan vendors youth artisans, strolling carolers, yummy food and treats, Gluwein and hot cocoa and expanded gift shop. You can purchase wine for the holidays while you are there.

Sunday, Dec. 8

A Tehachapi Christmas tradition is returning to Fiddlers Crossing. Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," read by Tehachapi's own Alex Zonn, First published in 1843, "A Christmas Carol" Alex Zonn is well known to Tehachapi audiences, having appeared in a number of Tehachapi Community Theater productions. He is an accomplished actor and voiceover artist with many credits to his name. Fiddlers Crossing is at 206 E. F St., in Downtown Tehachapi. Tickets will be available at Mountain Music, next door to the venue. There is also a Venmo link at http://www.fiddlerscrossing.com/. To reserve tickets with a credit card, call (661) 823-9994. Tickets to the reading are $15, and as always, coffee and goodies are included. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. Show starts at 3 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 15

TPOPS Orchestra Sing-Along Concert: TPOPS is a community orchestra which plays pop tunes as well as light classical music. This year's selections include Christmas Carols as well as other popular holiday tunes. Amy Rodriquez conducts the orchestra, and Jim Peck is the vocal conductor. There will be a few solo numbers, but most of time the audience is encouraged to sing along with the orchestra. Mark your calendars now for this special event. Held at the ADHC Building, 123 W. F St. Suggested donation is adults $10, teens $5, children free. Concert starts at 4 p.m.
