National Wreaths Across America Day in Tehachapi, Dec. 14

Tehachapi Westside and Eastside Cemeteries, official Wreaths Across America (WAA) locations, will host a wreath-laying ceremony joining more than 4,600 other locations across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day.

Coordinated and led by 5150 Dieselz, local volunteers and fundraising groups have raised funds throughout the year to sponsor the placement of 782 veterans' wreaths on the headstones of our fallen service members laid to rest there. This annual event seeks to further the WAA mission of Remember, Honor, Teach, ensuring that the memory of those who served our country endures.

We invite the community to please join the American Legion Riders, American Legions Post 221, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legions, Blue Star Mothers, Patriot Guard Riders, veterans, active service members and families.

On Saturday, Dec. 14, 10 a.m., at Westside Cemetery, 920 Enterprise Wy., (behind Home Depot) for the morning ceremony and approx. 11:30 a.m. at Eastside Cemetery, 820 Burnett Rd. Freedom Plaza Ceremony, 200 W. Tehachapi Blvd., will begin at 5 p.m.
