Cowboys and Angels celebrates grand opening

Provided.

On Thursday, Dec. 19 Joanne Nicks, owner of Cowboys and Angels Boutique, stood outside of her new location on Green Street in Downtown Tehachapi and welcomed in a new era of possibility.

Surrounded by her friends, family and avid customers, Joanne shared a story about how her first location was destroyed by a fire several months ago. The loss would have encouraged others to shutter their doors for good, but with the help of the community who rallied behind her, Joanne rose from the ashes and continued her business.

"You can't keep a cowgirl down," said Mayor Pro-tem Jeanette Pauer as she presented a heartwarming recognition for the business. The Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce and Karen Sanders, representative for Chris Parlier of Kern County District 2, also presented certificates of recognition.

Next time you find yourself on Green Street, be sure to stop in and say hi to Joanne and her team.
