Tehachapi Audubon meeting, Jan. 28

Provided.

Joan Cote and Cindy Marble.

Audubon meets for the first time in 2025 at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at the Golden Hills Elementary School, 20215 Park Rd., Tehachapi.

We will celebrate Carol Gates' 14 years of service as leader, introduce Cindy Marble and Joan Cote as new co-leaders and have a program on water birds. Bob Barnes, aka bird encyclopedia, is visiting from Ridgecrest and will be speaking on our topic. He will be using e-bird and other online birding applications to supplement his program, so bring your smart phones!

The following morning, Wednesday, Jan. 29 starting at 9 a.m. we will meet Bob at the Tom Sawyer Lake parking area and practice what we learned. We will continue on to Brite Lake depending on weather and consensus. All are welcome, you do not need to be a member to attend. The program is free. We will have a "bird" related raffle and refreshments provided.

Tehachapi Audubon, part of Kern Audubon Society, meets quarterly on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Golden Hills Elementary School. Meetings are 1 to 1.5 hours long. Outings are scheduled based on interest.
