Clyde Stroub was born Jan. 19, 1932 in Arkansas to parents Ruby and Eugene Stroub. He passed Jan. 10 at his home in Tehachapi.
Clyde came to Tehachapi in 1967 to run the King Lumber Hardware store. He and his wife Wanda bought the store in 1973 and ran it together until 1984 when they sold it. Later, Clyde retired to work for Tehachapi Recreation and Parks District for several years.
Clyde served with many organizations throughout his life. He was with the Masons since 1965 serving as Master Mason. A member of Kiwanis serving as the District Governor in 1970 and the president of the local chapter 1971. He served as member of the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce, being named president in 1972. He served on the Tehachapi Fountain Festival Committee for many years, and Clyde and Wanda were Parade Grand Marshalls in 1983.
Clyde had many other interests as well, including water skiing, sailplane owner/pilot, running, walking, golf and RVing.
Clyde is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Wanda Stroub. The love of his life.
He is survived by his children: son, Allen (Helen); daughter, Faye Terry; sister, Brenda; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Clyde was loved and respected deeply by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in April.
